2018 Nissan Sentra takes a walk on the upscale side
Nissan Sentra has been around since 1982 and is currently on its 7th generation. Originally a subcompact car, the model was eventually reclassified as a compact car and remains to be one of the greatest options from its class. Although there are no major changes for this year's model, the 2018 Nissan Sentra introduced us to two new trim levels including the Nissan Sentra SR Turbo and the Nissan Sentra NISMO which became the first turbocharged Nissan Sentra offered by the company in North American Market.
Interior / Exterior
Nissan Sentra offers many standard features from security to infotainment. One of the most notable advantages you can get from this compact car is the impressive spacious cargo space. Not to mention that this car is very affordable compared to other leading competitors that belong to its class. The Nissan Sentra has a seating capacity of five people with a passenger space similar to a midsize sedan. It is indeed one of the most spacious compact cars available today.
It comes with the standard cloth seats but you can upgrade it to leather upholstery, heated front seats and power adjustable driver seats for additional driving comfort experience. The roomy cargo space is definitely the most interesting highlights of this compact car. It offers exceptional passenger space with plenty of legroom for both front and back seats.
Infotainment / Security
As far as the infotainment is concerned, the 2018 Nissan Sentra will definitely not disappoint. The base models come with a standard 5 inch touch screen infotainment system. The higher trims come with slightly larger touch screen. The features are not really complex but more user-friendly. There are easy-to-reach on screen buttons and a larger screen for better navigation system. It also comes with NissanConnect which allows you to use your mobile data and get access to various internet apps through the infotainment screen.
For the security features, Nissan Sentra comes with a standard rearview camera. Available option includes the forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. Other 2018 Nissan Sentra available safety features include traction control, child safety locks, brake assist and more. Higher trim levels also come with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert system.
Performance
Performance wise, 2018 Nissan Sentra delivers decent figures. The engine performance may not be as powerful as other cars that belong to the same class, Nissan Sentra is still a great economy car and is good enough for your daily driving needs. Under the hood lies the 1.8L four cylinder engine (base models) which can generate up to 124 horsepower and 125 lb ft of torque. Other trim levels offer a turbocharged 1.6L four cylinder engine that makes 188 horsepower. It also offers a decent fuel efficiency too.
