2018 Chevrolet Equinox Review
Since it was introduced in 2004, Chevrolet Equinox has become one of the top choices for a compact crossover SUV. Interestingly, the Chevrolet Equinox model was completely redesigned for the 2018 model which marks the start of the car’s third generation. The newly redesigned model offers a vast amount of impressive features including a quality interior, an overwhelming list of standard features, stable handling and powerful engine choices. This new generation also introduced a new All-Wheel-Drive System from GKN Driveline.
Interior / Exterior
Since this is a completely redesigned model, there is certainly a lot to expect from the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. The new Chevrolet Equinox has a seating capacity for five people. It comes with a standard cloth seat but there an option to upgrade it to leather upholstery. The vehicle also offers enough head and legroom for utmost comfort. It also offers an impressive cargo space which you can efficiently use for your daily driving needs.
The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox comes with four different trim levels: Chevrolet Equinox L, Chevrolet Equinox LS, Chevrolet Equinox LT and Chevrolet Equinox Premier. Each trim level is special on their own yet they all offer a vast amount of standard safety and infotainment features.
Infotainment / Security
2018 Chevrolet Equinox has a great list of standard infotainment features. This includes the six-speaker audio system, a USB port, proximity key entry, Bluetooth system, push button start and a 7 inch touch screen infotainment system. There are also available options like the dual zone automatic climate control system, remote start, HD Radio, and navigation system. The standard Infotainment features come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which allows you to access some Internet apps, and send SMS to your contacts directly on the touch screen.
As far as the security and safety are concerned, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox will not disappoint. The only standard safety or driver assistance feature for this model is the rear view camera. However, there’s an overwhelming amount of available advanced safety feature you can add. These features include rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring. Higher trim levels of Equinox like the Premier has available advanced safety features such as the 360 degree camera, safety alert seat, automatic high beams, lane departure warning and many more.
Performance
Performance wise, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox offers a standard turbocharged 1.5 L four cylinder engine which is backed by six speed automatic transmission. The powertrain produces 170 horsepower and 203 lb ft of torque. The two other new engine options offers bigger figures. There’s a 1.6L turbo-diesel four cylinder engine that generates 137 horsepower and 240 lb ft of torque. There’s also a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder engine that produces up to 252 horsepower and 260 lb ft of torque. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox also offers smooth and stable handling, impressive fuel efficiency and excellent towing capacity.
